Unable to burn mts file with Nero in the DVD format ?

I have Canon HF10 which saves the video file in the mts file format. Few days ago I had a party in which I had stored more than 10 GB. Now I want to burn it in the DVD so that I can send it to my family. I tried to burn the mts file through Nero but it didn’t work. Please tell me which program should I use to burn the mts file in the DVD format?
