Information Store in Exchange Server Corrupted: What to do next ?

The information store in the Exchange Server is not working well. Whenever I am trying to open any mails or any message, I am having great difficulty in accessing to it. Sometimes, I am not able to access to the contents stored in the Information Store at all and the server gives me the following error message: "Error 4294966746: JET_errDatabaseInconsistent".

I think that the information store is somewhat corrupted and it requires repair or recovery work. Can anybody suggest me how to repair the information store without the aid of any kind of utility tool as I can’t afford it now?

Yes, when the information store is corrupted or damaged it is very difficult to fetch any information or data from it. The only solution left for us is to repair the damaged information store. The 3rd party utility tools are very adept in the Exchange Server Recovery of the damaged information store. But since you could not afford it, you can go through the following manual operations to help you:
• Run the Eseutil utility and send the output of the command to the text file
• If any of the EDB file is inconsistent, then perform Exchange Server Recovery by using Eseutil/r
• After that delete all the .log, Temp.edb and .chk files from the folder
• Defragment the database using eseutil/d and use Istinteg to check from the beginning

By performing these operations, the Information Store would get started. Even still the store does not start, then use (DS/IS) Consistency Adjuster to make the store get started. When the information store starts, export all the mailbox items in the PST File format using Exmerge.

I hope that this information will help you to sort out your existing problem.
