I am not able to open any PSD files in the newly installed CS3 ?

I replaced my old laptop with a new Dell Inspiron 5375 with Windows XP. I installed PhotoShop CS3 in the new laptop and when I tried to open a particular PSD file, I am getting the following error message:

"An error occurred trying to read the linked file "file.xxx". Choose Repair to locate the missing file, Replace to select another file or Ignore to leave the link unchanged.".

I did a factory restoration of the new laptop and reinstalled PhotoShop CS3 but still the problem persists. Can anybody tell me how to resolve this problem?

The main reason why you are denied access to the PSD files in PhotoShop CS3 is because of the outdated permissions on the files from your old laptop. To correct this problem, you would have to go through the following PhotoShop Repair solution:

On the Properties, Right Click on it and then go to the Security and from the Advanced Settings, disable all the Inherit settings from the parent folders. Assign new security keys after deleting the previous outdated ones.

By doing so, you will be able to get access to all the PSD files in PhotoShop CS3. If still the problem persists then it would be better to opt for some PhotoShop Repair software that is available from any software outlets of your city.
