How to resolve “card error” in Fujifilm FinePix J38?

My father had gifted me Fujifilm FinePix J38 digital camera in my 22nd birthday. It is a nice camera that has 12.2 mega pixel resolution with amazing picture quality. I am using SDHC card in this camera to store the pictures. A day after my birthday’s night I was simply copying the images stored in the memory card to my Mac and my small brother has removed the memory card from the camera while the coping is on process. Now when I am trying to access the data saved in the SDHC memory card, I am getting an error message which says

“Card error”

I am not an technical person so I don’t know about this error message, please help me to resolve this issue. I am dying to watch my birthday photos.

johnsharp 		Well, you are not supposed to remove the card from the camera while the copying process was on. However it had happened accidentally but the damage was caused due to this. The card is corrupted due to which you are not able access the files stored in it. To retrieve your birthday photos and resolve the error message the only way is the reformatting of the SDHC card. While corruption problem get resolved after formatting the data saved in the memory card also gets deleted.
So, in order to recover the deleted or lost data’s you need to use any recovery software and since you are using Mac you need Mac compatible recovery tool. So, why don’t you try Photo Recovery for Mac software to retrieve the lost and deleted data’s. I am sure it will resolve your issue.
