This section includes two sections for advanced troubleshooting:

If the error occurs during installation, go to the "Error occurs during the installation of Windows XP" section.
If the error occurs after Windows XP is already installed, go to the "Error occurs after Windows XP is already installed" section.

This Stop error message usually occurs during installation when there was an attempt in kernel mode to touch pageable memory at too high a process internal request level (IRQL). Typically, this error occurs when a driver uses an incorrect memory address. Other possible causes of this error include an incompatible device driver, a general hardware problem, or incompatible software.

- In case you are unable to open your system in even safe mode also other startup options has become worthless, still there is a way for data recovery XP i.e. by use of recovery console for restoration of windows XP which can be run from CD-ROM or startup disks. Recovery console is really powerful tool with the help of which you can enable or disable services, format or read, write from local drives. Windows XP recovery console is very useful in repairing system by copying files to external drive from hard drive as well as for uninstalling programs which is stopping your system from working or starting.

Since you are facing this problem after installation which means their must be some problem with software or hardware of third parties which was installed on the system thereafter. The solution for which is present in “restore windows” section, but before that try you can try trouble shooting given by third parties. Using the last known good configuration feature which is a XP data recovery option, system can be restarted. With this registry information and driver settings of last successful boot of system can be acquired. If it happens so, it’s good. Otherwise you will have to repair Windows XP installation.
