Getting I/O errors in my mac. How can I solve it?

I was running the file system and got the I/O error message
“disk0s5: I/O error.

Invalid key length

(4, 3424)

** Volume check failed.”
Can anyone help me in solving this problem?

martinachrist 		I/O errors generally indicate that the hard drive is having some problems in writing and reading. It may be because your hard drive is damaged or may be some physical problem is disturbing your hard disk. You can format your hard drive to solve the errors.
