Enterprise Manager Snap-In is missing in MS SQL Server 2000 ?

I am using MS SQL Server for the past 3 years. Yesterday, I cleaned the entire system of my computer using an anti virus. Later on when I got access to the MS SQL Database, I was shocked to find out that the Enterprise Manager Snap-In is missing. Is it so that when I was running the anti virus, the Enterprise Manager got deleted or what. Would I have to reinstall the SQL Server 2000 again or do I need to repair the MS SQL Database; kindly suggest?

This kind of thing sometimes occurs when you are running an anti virus to clean your system. I also had to face a similar problem like you. You can uninstall the Server 2000 and reinstall it, but it would take away lot of time. Instead of this, go through the following MS SQL Database Repair solution that is elucidated below:

• From the Start button, go to Run and type ‘regedit’ and then press OK
• Locate the following registry sub key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\ClientSetup.
• From the ClientSetup registry sub key; right click it to point to New and then click the String Value
• Rename the registry sub key that you have created as SqlPath registry and then press enter
• From the SqlPath registry, double click it and then type regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\sqlmmc.dll and then press ok

By going through the above mentioned procedure, you will be able to restore back the missing Enterprise Manager Snap-In in SQL Server 2000.
