CRC(cyclic redundancy check) error is generated while ripping DVD?

Last day when I was ripping DVD on my Mac tiger using DVD decrypter I got CRC error unable to read file, it seemed the case of DVD protection and with the advice of my friend it tried it once again after doing certain settings, such as from file mode, go to tools, settings, checked detect mastering error under general tab. Checked fast errors skips from device tab, ignore read error etc but still could not complete ripping and said cannot copy files rather troubles have increased.

Indeed wrong means of ripping, and even if you compete resultant would be bad copy. Tell your friend and clear your misconception that mastering error has anything to do with CRC error. Moreover, selection of fast error skip leads to more error than usually found. Read error is the sign of disc problem that is either the disc is dirty, scratched or any other fault. So, clean it and then rip it, you can do so in another drive. If these don’t work there is probably some disk issue may be because the disk is write protected, so in that case DVD ripper for Mac software will surely assist you in ripping DVD.
