Boot Process Terminated in Windows XP with Master File Table Errors ?

When I am starting my computer, the boot process is terminated and it is giving MFT errors. I am getting the following error when I booting up the system: "C:\$MFT is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the CHKDSK utility."

Somehow when I am able to start the computer, I can see the data stored in the hard drive. But when I am trying to get access to it, the content in it disappears after a split second. What should I do to so that I am able to access all the data stored in the hard drive? Under what ground is this problem occurring? What is the different kind of tools available that is able to do data recovery from my hard drive which runs on NTFS file system?

Patrick 		The computer of yours is not able to boot up because the Master Boot Record; commonly known as MBR Boot Loader is unable to read the boot information from the hard drive. The root of the problem is in the corruption of the MFT. When the table in NTFS file system is damaged, the boot loader is not able to get the reference of the boot file.

To get rid of this problem, there are different kinds of 3rd party utility tools available in the market like:

• Zune Data Recovery: With the help of this utility tool, you can get your MP3 and MP4 format music files recovered. This tool is ideal for the MS Zune Music Player. All the music files are recovered that are inaccessible due to formatting, deletion, not read by the hard drive etc.

• Windows Recovery Tool: This utility tool can do NTFS Data Recovery of all the data that is located on the hard drive. This tool is generally used to recover the data from the logically corrupted areas from the hard disk.

• Digital Recovery Tools: This utility tool is able to recover the photos and images from the hard drive that are inaccessible. The tool supports JPG, MPEG, MIDI, TIFF, GIF file formats of the pictures.

So, these are some of the different types of recovery tools for recovering data from the hard drive of NTFS file system. Depending upon what kind of data you want to recover from the hard drive; whether files, pictures or music; you can use the above mentioned utility tools.
