The probable reasons behind occurrence of this error are damage of B-tree, File system discrepancy. Or you have ever upgraded old HD to new HD of your Mac PC whose size is more than 8GB. If inconsistencies symptoms are there then you can eradicate by using disk utility feature. In mode of single user you can run FSCK. If the issue doesn’t goes away reinstall the Mac. By selecting recent backup files can be kept protected. If because of upgradation the problem appears then first make back of Mac in HD. Use Mac restore disk and then start the system. Through disk utility repartitioned the HD. Reduce the first partition of HD smaller than 8GB. And then in first partition install and load Mac. After doing this data are no longer present there use data recovery Mac applications to get them. These recovery applications can be used when there is logical loss of information.
